CHW Job Descriptions

The Basic Skills Technician engages members and organizations, primarily in a community setting, to help identify those who can benefit from mental health education, crisis intervention, therapeutic and counseling services, and/or substance abuse treatment.The Community Health Worker helps to locate, arrange, and provide immediate and on-going information and referrals for social support services, as well as works to connect individuals and families to other case management services for longer term interventions. The Community Health Worker focuses on assisting individuals (youth, adolescents/teen, and adults) and families who may be dealing with behavioral, emotional, and/or mental health concerns. This includes challenges that substantially interfere with or limit functioning in family, school, work, finances, or community.
